I began running as a little 12 year old in 6th grade with a push from my dad. After a battle with mono, it would be a few years until I picked it back up again. I did 8th grade track and was contacted by the high school coach to come out for cross country as a freshman in high school. Heck, why not, I thought.
I competed on my varsity team all four years in high school with a fairly successful career, reaching my dream to compete at states my senior year. Easily one of the best days of my life.
Later that year I completed my first half marathon, the Nike Women’s online half marathon, connecting with my Nike Sports Band. Running around a park by myself just for fun, I completed the 13.1 miles in 1:48.
For the first two year of my collegiate career, I competed for a Division 1 team. Now, I have transferred to a Division 3 team. After college I plan to continue my running career with half and full marathons, and I hope to have a career involved with running. Running isn’t only my passion, but my life. I am so blessed to have found something I love so much!
